Everything changed when I lost my best friend at 27.
My person, my wild one, my beautiful source of support who always saw me in a way I could never see myself.
Before she passed, she told me she had regrets and that I needed to live out for the both of us, and it lit the entrepreneurial fire that had been flickering in my heart for years.
And over time, I realized that living for both of us meant being who I am and not wavering for *anyone* else.
In the process of honouring my friend, I built a very successful global company, which I loved on many levels, but pushed myself to my limits. I was gone half the month traveling for business, and constantly pushed my boundaries and it slowly took its toll on me.
I was on auto-pilot, disconnected, exhausted, and not connected to my body at all. My ritual practices fell to the wayside and I lost myself. My Scorpio Moon was suffering and I started to have so much anxiety. I couldn’t sleep and felt very alone.
My older brother came to stay with me for a month. He took care of me and slowly brought things into my awareness of how I had lost myself. As a doctor in Chinese Medicine, he started working on my deficiencies and making me ‘potions’.
At the time I was living in downtown Toronto and told him I want to move to the country and we started looking for houses right away.
The house I found was magical, so peaceful but had some energy to it which ignited a spark in me to start my divine feminine ritual and meditative practices again. And I started working with the moon again…. my muse.
That’s when I returned to my roots and reclaimed my connection to self.
I started embracing my weirdness. Following my intuition. Connecting daily to my divine feminine mentors. Creating space for rituals, moon ceremonies, feminine practices, plants, nature and most of all? Myself — my sensuality and the connection to the romance that the cosmos transpires for us to see and live in.
I knew that starting a soul-based business was my purpose and I took a leap of faith and left the business I created and ran for 10 years.
I had 20 years of experience in the Wellness industry, a degree in clinical nutrition, worked with over 70 wellness companies internationally but knew it wasn’t quite the right.
As a scientist first, I became more interested in the energy of things and how everything is interconnected. What I loved about Ancient Chinese Medicine (TCM) is that each organ system has a ruling planet. As someone that followed the cycles of the moon, this all made perfect sense.
I started combining astrology and TCM together and began working with women with the same philosophy that I used to come back to my body.
Now, I’m devoted to creating space for women to heal and find their way back to themselves.
Make no mistake, it takes work and resilience to realize who you really are and what YOU really want — to hold the container for yourself to activate change.
But if you can do that, you can channel your pain and past experience into true purpose and service to the collective, too.
